Planting & Care
Watering: Water occasionally for the first few months until the plant is established. Never overwater your vinca as they prefer dryer soils. They are very drought tolerant, so only water in periods of very extreme drought.
Location: Choose a partial shade location where the soil is nutritionally rich but on the dryer side. If you have clay soils mixing in compost will greatly benefit your vine. Vinca can burn if in too much sun so aim for morning light or around 4-6 hours of sun daily.Â
Pruning: You can prune your Vinca by cutting them in half after the summer bloom to encourage more growth the following year. You can also prune to maintain the density and shape of a hedge or potted plant.Â
